We have confirmed the former employee of the Wichita County auditor’s office charged with embezzling a local business where she worked part-time has been terminated.

And the other person charged has now apparently posted bond.

Jessica Winkler and Mark Alden Lancaster were charged with theft over $30,000 in connection to embezzlement of a Seymour Highway storage center.

Winkler bonded out of jail the same day on $5,000 bond, but Lancaster was still listed on the jail roster Thursday with a $30,000 bond, but is no longer on listed.

According to the charges, Lancaster was a manager at the business and Winkler was a part-time employee.

The affidavit alleges he was writing unauthorized  checks to himself for cash, and to Winkler, because of a  romantic interest.

Total amount of the unauthorized checks was almost $58,000.

Records provided to our request for Winkler’s status show she was terminated Tuesday, the same day she was arrested.

County Judge Woody Gossom said a review of accounts Winkler had access to show no discrepancies.
