Gov. Abbott to participate in Nexstar Media Group debate

Texas Governor Greg Abbot announced Wednesday he accepted an invitation from Nexstar Media Group for a statewide debate against the Democratic nominee for governor.

The debate will take place Sept. 28 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Austin, Texas and will be broadcast statewide online and through 12 Nexstar stations — including KFDX — in addition to partner stations in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.

Abbotts Campaign Spokesman Alejandro Teviño said, “We look forward to our opponent accepting this invitation to discuss the critical issues on the minds of Texans, and we thank Nexstar Media Group for their generous offer to host this debate.”
