A Montague County Grand Jury has indicted a Nocona man accused of sexually assaulting a member of his church’s youth group.
Brandon Cole Hale, 31, is charged sexual assault, sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by contact.
Hale’s bonds total $400,000.
According to Hale’s arrest affidavit, in May 2017 a Texas Ranger’s investigation began into allegations against Hale for sexual abuse.
Authorities say they interviewed a 17-year-old male who told authorities that after meeting Hale through the church youth group — where Hale had a leadership role — he eventually moved into Hale’s home to attend school in Nocona. That’s when the teen said the abuse started, describing an incident of oral sex.
Hale was arrested in Aug. 2017.
Officials in the Montague County District Attorney’s Office say Hale was also recently arrested for violating his bond conditions.
