The principal of Haynes Northwest Academy charged with failing to report alleged sexual acts involving first graders has been cleared of all charges.
The affidavit alleged that in Oct. 2017 a teacher told Cindy Underwood she had found photographs on an iPad assigned to one of the students of three 6-year-old male students engaging in sexual acts in the classroom.
Under Texas law, a professional with responsibility to report possible abuse or neglect must report it within 48 hours and may not delegate it to another person.
The principal of Crockett Elementary is also accused of not reporting an incident involving a first grader.
According to the affidavit, Kory Fancher Dorman was notified by three grandparents that their 7-year-old grandson was sexually assaulted by another first grader in the bathroom.
The affidavit also says Dorman told the grandparents she had delegated the responsibility to the school counselor.
Police say Dorman said she did not report the alleged abuse to any law enforcement agencies or Child Protective Services.
No decision on her charges has been made yet.
Once all the information is finalized Wichita Falls Independent Superintendent will release a statement about both principals.
