Helping hand on the highway

Local News

A couple traveling through Wichita Falls reached out to social media over the weekend when they encountered car trouble on Kell Freeway.

The couple was traveling through Wichita Falls after dropping off their son at Texas Tech when their trailer began to swerve and became disconnected from the vehicle.

Chaplain Jonathan Ochoa and his wife happened to be behind the vehicle when the incident occurred.
Ochoa and his wife pulled over to help the couple.

It was what they did afterward that had the traveling couple reaching out to social media to find the Ochoa’s and thank them for their good deed. Ochoa says he just did what he hopes anybody else would do.

“She wasn’t crying when we’re latching the trailer back together, she wasn’t crying when we asked if everybody was okay. She was crying after we prayed with them, I guess realizing what had just occurred,” said Ochoa.

Ochoa said he just did what he hopes anybody else would and said he’s been in that situation before and simply wanted to pay it forward.
