A truck driver from New York is in stable condition after his 18-wheeler caught on fire on I-44 on Tuesday.
Authorities say it happened around noon near the Red River Bridge.
DPS Trooper Dan Buesing says 47-year-old Yinghao Xu was driving northbound when he lost control of the truck and hit a guard rail.
Buesing says at some point after that he must have popped a diesel tank, which caused the 18-wheeler to catch on fire.
As of 3 p.m. the northbound lane was still shut down, but Buesing expected it to reopen shortly after we spoke with him.
I-44 on the Red River Bridge at the Oklahoma/Texas border is closed due to a semi-truck fire.
Texas DPS is currently working on the crash, as well as traffic control in the area.
