Texas Radio Hall of Famer Joe Tom White announced Friday morning, after almost 60 years on local radio, it was his last day to wake up Texomans over the radio waves.

Joe Tom:  “It is just super nice to have friends like y’all.  I appreciate it very much.  I’m going to end the studio and not get up early to drive here.  But also, get out from time to time.  But, we’re just going to say goodbye and good luck.”

Joe Tom’s familiar voice will still be around each morning, though, along with his face on KFDX.

He’s going to join Mike Campbell as co- host of Texoma Country Morning, and offer Texoma experience and stories shared for more than 3 decades.

Of Joe Tom’s nearly 6- decades in broadcast, about 30- of those years have been with Mike.
23- years of the Joe Tom and Mike team have been spent at News Talk 1290.

Joe Tom:  “A lot of people came to the studio this morning, in person.  A lot of them called on the phone as far away as Houston.  One lady says she and her husband have been listening the entire 57 years.”

Joe Tom’s excited to start another decade on the air broadcasting, and about his new beginning with Mike on Texoma Country Morning, weekdays at 5 AM starting on March 7th.
As for those who’ve been with him for so long:

Joe Tom:  “Thank you is all.  A big thank you.”
