Lawton Author Sentenced to Two Years

An author from Lawton took a plea agreement to charges connected to luring a New York teen to his home.

59-year-old Charles Michael Segaloff plead guilty on April first to reduced charges.

Lawton Police Detective Nancy Lombardo says he now faces two years in prison, and a $250,000 fine.

Segaloff will also be required to register for life as a sex offender.

In December, Segaloff was charged with traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a juvenile, kidnapping, sex trafficking, and enticement of a juvenile.

Lawton PD says Segaloff was already a convicted sex offender, but as of 2014 was no longer required to register with the Lawton Police Department.

Detectives say he became an author of BDSM novels under the name ‘Michael Makai’ and was a best-seller on Amazon.

The indictment reports Segaloff traveled from Lawton to Greenwich, New York, to pick up a 17-year-old girl to become a part of a ‘”fetish style culture and lifestyle.”

It’s also reported that he wanted to hold the girl to form a polyamorous family.

This case is the result of an investigation by the FBI, Lawton PD, and New York State Police.
