Local dogs quarantined after playing with rabid bat

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Two dogs in Wichita Falls are in quarantine after coming into contact with a rabid bat.

It happened in the Fountain Park area of Wichita Falls, near University and McNiel.

Local health officials said the dogs were discovered playing with the bat that later tested positive for rabies.

The Health District is now reminding everyone to get their pets vaccinated.
