Local unemployment rate continues to fall

The  unemployment rate declined  in most areas of Texas last month, and also in Wichita Falls and North Texas.

The rate for the city of Wichita Falls fell to 4%  in July,  the same rate as a year ago, but slightly lower than June.  

The rate for the three county metro area of Wichita Falls also fell  to 3.7%.

The lowest rate in this region was  in Foard County at 2.8%, and the highest rate  was again Wilbarger County, but it fell  from 4.6% in June. 

The state average  for July is 4% with Midland’s  2.2% rate the lowest in Texas.
