Locals share Christmas memories

For many, receiving and giving presents are a large part of the holiday season and the memories of certain gifts can stay with people.

“Probably say it was an old electric race track. Had the little squeezy trigger. Probably the best thing I’ve ever had in my life. Broke five minutes later,” said Tim Sousa, an Iowa Park firefighter.

And sometimes those Christmas memories have nothing to do with gifts

“Well one time I ate a Christmas ornament. It was a candy cane Christmas ornament. It exploded in my mouth,” said Crae Jackson

One common theme for the Holiday season, is the chance to spend time with family, especially the family that does not live close

“We all go to a house to for Christmas and open presents on Christmas eve,” said Creed Jackson

“Mostly gathering around on Christmas eve,” said Sousa. “Big breakfast in the morning on Christmas day. Gather with family and watch Christmas story all day long. The best one was about four years ago, having all the family from California coming out and everything. They came to spend good family times. Hanging out with family. Had everyone from California.”
