Longest serving elected official in Clay County dies

Funeral services are pending for the longest-serving elected official in Clay County history.

Henrietta resident, 68-year-old Dan Slagle passed away Sunday.

Dan’s father, Don Slagle became district clerk in 1947, and then Slagle filled his father’s unexpired term when his father passed away.
 

When Slagle retired in 2016 after 37-years there had been a Slagle in the district clerk’s office in Clay County for almost 7 decades. 

Funeral services are pending through Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta.
