Low inventory leads IP officials to ask for food pantry donations

Local News

The Iowa Park Ministerial Alliance’s food pantry is in need of food donations. Located inside Iowa Park United Methodist Church, supplies are much less now then they were around the holidays.

Food is given out the fourth Thursday of the month, serving between 65 to 95 families a month.

Pastor Jeffrey Pehl said without this, so many would struggle to put food on the table and encounter other issues.

“Some of them might have to go to other jurisdictions and they may not be able to get there. They may not have a means of transportation,” Pehl said. “Some of them suffer physical ailments. So, even if they wanted to go and had the time, they may not be able to do it physically.”

Donations can be made Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. or by making an appointment. They’ll also take donations after Sunday services.
