Man allegedly beats ex-girlfriend’s son, 4, for setting pillow on fire

Local News

A man is charged with the apparent beating of a 4-year-old boy which left bruises over his entire body because the boy set a pillow on fire.

Itrace Brown, 37, is charged with injury to a child with a $10,000 bond.

An officer with the Wichita Falls Crimes Against Children Unit said the boy’s mother left the boy with Brown, her ex-boyfriend, when she went to work.

She said about two-and-a-half hours later she got a text from Brown that her son had upset him when he woke up to see the boy setting a pillow on fire.

Brown sent a second message saying he had disciplined the boy and that “I bet he don’t touch another one.”

When the mother came home, she found bruises all over the child.

The officer reported bruising to the boy’s neck, shoulders, arms, back, chest, legs, shoulders and abdomen.
