Man Allegedly Breaks Into Home, Uses a Gun to Beat a Man and Sexually Assaults a Female Occupant

Local News

Police say a man broke into a Wichita Falls home and sexually assaulted a woman inside. Officers say Drew Mathis broke into a home in the 4200 block of Hughes Drive around 6:00 am yesterday morning.

According to police, one of the victims said Mathis beat him in the head and stood over him pointing a handgun at him saying, “If you move I will kill you.”

They say that the beating victim then witnessed Mathis sexually assault a woman in the room. Mathis refused to leave the home unless the female victim left with him.

They left in the woman’s car and officers later located Mathis and that victim in a home in the 600 block of Sunset. They say the woman came outside first, followed by Mathis a while later.

Mathis is charged with two counts of burglary of a habitation and one count of aggravated sexual assault.
