Police say a burglar’s getaway with his loot may have been foiled, after the truck he was using broke down.
Jamey Don McGaugh was arrested for burglary of a building and theft of a vehicle.
Police say an alarm was received on a break-in at Harbor Freight and officers discovered the front door glass shattered.
Several items were discovered missing including several air compressors.
About 30 minutes later, Wichita County Deputies stopped to help a man with a stalled pickup in traffic at Kemp and 9th Street in Wichita Falls.
They noticed he had a cut on a thumb and there were some air compressors in the truck.
They learned of the burglary two hours later, contacted police, and went back to the intersection where they found the truck still there, with the missing items still in the truck bed.
McGaugh was linked to the truck with fingerprints and later arrested.
