A Wichita Falls man is behind bars after police officers said he stole a vehicle from a car dealership worth $60,000.
Police officers responded to one of the Patterson Dealership around 9 p.m. Thursday, April 18 after they received multiple complaints of vehicles being stolen and broken into.
Upon arrival, officers set up surveillance in the dealership lot to find the suspect.
After the suspect returned back to the lot, police identified him as Matthew Gregory, 30. Police officers also said Gregory matched the description of a man who allegedly dumped a stolen car at the McDonalds nearby.
Just before 1:30 a.m., Gregory returned back to the dealership and begin checking key boxes on the vehicles to see what other vehicles he could steal.
Officers then began to hear banging noises before they saw Gregory drive out of the dealership parking lot. Officers later stopped Gregory at Broad Street and Kell Boulevard where they arrested Gregory and took him into custody.
The officers also said once Gregory arrived at jail he became aggressive towards officers and threatened to kill them.
