Update: DPS Sgt. Dan Buesing has released the name of the man who was involved in a fatal deputy-involved shooting in Quanah Saturday morning.
That man is 59-year-old Tommy Wayne Welch of Quanah.
According to his obituary, he was a former psychiatric nurse at the North Texas State Hospital and was on disability.
Details of the funeral services are still pending.

A Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a call residence in town with a man with a knife about 9:15 a.m.
According to DPS Sgt. Dan Buesing, the deputy responded to the call about 10 minutes and notified Quanah communication that shots were fired.
The man was pronounced dead on scene, and the deputy was not injured.
The Hardeman County Sheriff Pat Laughery notified Texas Rangers for an investigation.
