Man gets new charges after allegedly hitting officers

Local News

A Wichita Falls man has two new charges after Wichita County authorities say he assaulted two detention officers trying to book him into jail.

Eddie Ramos, 26, has two $5,000 bonds for assault of a public servant, in addition to charges of speeding, no drivers license and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

On June 20, detention officers in the Wichita County Jail said an officer was behind Ramos while Ramos was being fingerprinted and he threw his head back and hit the officer in the mouth and cheek.

Authorities said while another officer was trying to remove Ramos from a cell to finish booking him, Ramos took an aggressive fighting stance and then hit the officer in the nose with his fist.

The arrest affidavit stated the officer’s nose began to bleed and his eyes began to blacken and he required medical attention.

Ramos’ record shows a previous conviction for evading arrest.
