A Vernon man is no longer just a person of interest in a home invasion and shooting there last week because he’s now a suspect.
Antonio King, 23, was released from the hospital in Wichita Falls this weekend and was booked into the Wichita County jail on a Wilbarger County charge of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony.
Vernon police said King suffered gunshot wounds early last Wednesday morning during an attempted robbery at Arbors Apartments.
They say there was a struggle, and King was shot three times.
Vernon Police Chief Randy Agan said King could face additional charges when he’s transferred back to Vernon.
He also faces violations of his parole.
Records show he was released on parole from prison last April.
King has convictions in Wilbarger County for burglaries, thefts and evading arrest.
