One driver is at United Regional tonight, following a serious crash.
According to a Wichita Falls police officer on scene, first responders arrived at the crash around 7:20 p.m. The crash happened at 1701 9th street.
The officer said the suspect, not yet identified, crashed into a fire hydrant.
Witnesses told officers they saw the driver crash into the hydrant. A nearby officer hearing the crash, headed that way.
The driver then crashed into a sign. Right now, it’s unclear what caused the driver to crash into that sign.
The suspect then got out of his vehicle and began to walk away .Officers tried to stop him. The driver not comply, which lead to an altercation with the officer.
The suspect was taken to the hospital for a head laceration.
The cause for both crashes is being investigated.
