Social media accounts may become a requirement for Wichita Falls City employees as the mayor considers adopting a new code of conduct.
Mayor Stephen Santellana says it would provide the city the ability to monitor all communication between employees and citizens and hold employees accountable for any inappropriate behavior.
The idea was discussed during the city’s planning meeting.
Santellana says the social media requirement could be included in the potential code of conduct, along with a dress code.
District five City Councilor Steve Jackson believes the way he dresses at city council meetings is the reason why the mayor is considering adopting a code of conduct for councilors.
