‘Ms. Bea’s Tea Party’ to teach Booker T. girls etiquette

Local News

Girls in the fourth and fifth grade at Booker T. Washington got all dolled up for tea Friday.

The purpose of the event is to teach the girls good etiquette and self-care.

From this year onward the tea will be “Ms. Bea’s Tea” named after former Wichita Falls City Councilor Arthur Bea Williams.

“It’s really good for little girls to see how important they are and it is a girl power type thing, they realize their importance and it boosts their self-esteem as well,” PTA secretary Raven Barry said.

In addition to the tea party, the girls get to clean their cup and saucer and take them home.

Alice in Wonderland themed prizes are given to the girl with the highest GPA, the girl who shows the most change in attitude and much more.

The Caribbean Students at MSU also showed up to present the PTA with a check for a little more than $1,500.
