Athletes from Midwestern State University and Special Olympics Texas are banding together to battle for a replica Vince Lombardi trophy during the annual Superstars Bowl.

The athletes are forming two teams with an 11 vs. 11 format, each with seven Special Olympians and four MSU athletes.

The Special Olympians get their own MSU jerseys with their names on it, and those not playing get to cheer alongside MSU cheerleaders.

Pregame ceremonies get underway at 6:45 p.m. Friday and kick-off is at 7:30 p.m.

All the action is taking place at the McNiel/Garnett stadium.
