To beat West Texas A&M University in a blood donation challenge, Kappa Alpha Order at Midwestern State University will host a five-day blood drive with the Texas Blood Institute.
The school that collects the most blood during the week will be presented with a traveling trophy, however, Kappa Alpha philanthropy chair Jordon Nieto said it is about more than just the trophy.
“So for us, it falls a little close to home because our president actually did have cancer at one point and so blood transfusion were a big thing for him,” Nieto said.
Nieto said they hope to get 200 donors, they are currently falling behind.
Community members are invited to participate.
The last day to donate is Friday and the trophy will be presented to the winner at the rivalry football game between the Mustangs and the Buffs.
Healthy adults can give blood on one of the dates below, appointments are not required:
Thursday, 11 a.m.—3 p.m. in the Comanche Suites.
