Midwestern State University officials hope this will affect retention on campus.
Officials in the Department of Academic Affairs are looking to implement new strategies to keep students coming back.
The university has seen a decrease in enrollment in the past five years, specifically with first-time college students.
Midwestern officials report 288 students did not return Fall 2018 from the previous school year.
Vice president for Enrollment Management Fred Dietz said students with unmet financial needs as well as students living farthest from campus typically don’t return.
They are hoping to get these students more engaged on campus as well as provide resources such as residential peer mentoring and more.
