Food security continues to be a priority in Texoma, and folks at Midwestern State University are doing what they can to assist students.
Just recently the university opened the Mustangs Pantry, food donated and shelved for students.
The purpose of the food pantry is to give students who may be having a hard time financially access to necessities.
Student Government President Ellie Gunderson said she believes that the efforts being made by the university to eliminate food insecurity on the campus help a great deal for her peers.
“I think it makes this university feel more at home to students knowing that people actually care about us here as a person and not just who we are in the classroom,” Gunderson said.
The pantry is located in the student center and is open to students each Wednesday from 5—7 p.m.
The pantry has food, drinks, toiletries and more.
