A new business could be calling Wichita Falls home according to the city council agenda for Tuesday.

According to the agenda, in executive session councilors will discuss an offer of a financial incentive for a business prospect the city council hopes to have locate, stay or expand in and near Wichita Falls.

If approved, the Economic Development Corporation will begin negotiations.

Also on the agenda, city leaders could approve amending the budget to fund up to $300,000 for an extension agreement with Gatehouse Capital — a hotel development company that is working on building a convention hotel near the Multi-Purpose Event Center.

If all goes as planned, city leaders hope they will break ground on the facility this fall with the hotel opening in January 2020.
