No charges are anticipated at this time after numerous animals were taken from a home west of Iowa Park.

Wichita County deputies went to the property on FM 368 following complaints of neighbors. Some claim neglect has been going on for years and the sheriff says deputies have gone to the home in the past.

Wichita County Sheriff David Duke said deputies found a dead horse on the back of the property but say no criminal intent was found. There were also up 10 small dogs as well as possibly cats inside and llamas and other animals outside.

Duke said the homeowner agreed to let them take the outside animals to the Humane Society of Wichita County for adoption and care.

“The lady who lives there has been trying to keep up with all of her animals. We haven’t found anything that is criminal intent of abuse or neglect the animals. We believe she just has some issues that prohibit her to be able to maintain to handle everything,” Duke said.
