After many months of construction and updating, Nocona will celebrate a grand opening of the new ball glove factory.
The Nokona ball glove company has made handmade leather sporting goods for the last 82 years. A fire forced the company to move to the old Nocona boot factory for two years before moving to the current location off Clay Street.
Now, they’re ready to make the old boot factory their permanent home. The new manufacturing area and the new Nokona headquarters will feature a retail store full of ball gloves for purchase..and there Will also be a museum.
Vistors can also tour the facility to see how the gloves are made and get a little history about the town itself. Nokona executive VP Rob Storey says this allows the opportunity for even more out-of-town visitors to come to Nocona.
The grand opening and ribbon cutting event is next Thursday, May 17th.
