Officials continue investigation following Holliday fire

Local News

One family is left sifting through the ashes following a house fire last night off in Holliday.

According to Bowman Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief John Strenski, the home-owner said they believe the fire was electrical and started from a sparking electrical breaker.

The fire started about 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of Redwood and North Pecan off E. Olive Street.

Firefighters from Bowman, Holliday, Lake Kickapoo and Lakeside City VFDs responded to the call as well as the Holliday Police Department, DPS and Archer County Sheriff’s Office.

Oncor officials were on scene in the 300 block of Redwood and North Pecan to help investigate the cause of the fire.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene and two dogs were rescued from the house.

There is no word on estimated cost of total damage.

There is a GoFundMe set up for the family affected by the tragedy, so click here for more information on that.
