One man dead after Cotton Co. collision

A man is dead after a fatal collision accident in Cotton County on Tuesday morning.

The accident happened on State Highway 53 and County Road 2690, that’s 7 miles east of Walters, Oklahoma.

A trooper on scene said a garbage truck was northbound on County Road 2690, stopped at State Highway 53 and attempted to turn eastbound.

Then the driver of the garbage truck made an improper right turn going into the westbound lane hitting the second vehicle.

Then the garbage truck stopped in the center of the roadway and the second vehicle rotated counter-clockwise coming to a halt in the westbound lane.

The driver of the second car was pinned for about two and a half hours and was removed by the Walters Fire Department.

The driver of the second car is identified as Donald Mouser and the driver of the second vehicle is identified as H D Smith.

Smith was pronounced dead on the scene.
