Organizers prep for 51st annual Rehab Auction

Local News

The annual North Texas Rehab Auction series starts Wednesday and officials cannot stress enough the wonders the funds received can do for their clients.

Dana Daniels is a Physical Therapist at the North Texas Rehabilitation Center who said being able to spend one on one time with her clients throughout their rehab process is what keeps her going.

“There’s just such a joy when you are able to take someone who is hurting or not being able to do the things that they want to do in life and to be able to help them arrive at that goal,” Daniels said.

But to continue the mission of Daniels and others at the non-profit, community support is always needed, that is why the 51st annual Rehab Auction is important.

“Healthcare reimbursement is a confusing animal these days and anyone in the healthcare will tell you that It’s very expensive to provide the services,” North Texas Rehab President Mike Castles said.

Castles said the funding is not available only through insurance so the auction series ensures continued services such as speech, occupational and physical therapy, for Texomans who need help.

“We’re not gonna get mad at anybody if they bought something for too much money or too little money, we’re just asking people to help at the level they can,” Castles said.

“There are members of our community that are now walking, talking, being able to have less pain, that would not be able to do that had it not been for the dollars that have come in from the sponsored care that we get from these events,” Daniels said.

And so community members are invited to give what they can to help North Texas Rehab continue to work toward improving the lives of those who need it most

The T.V. auctions on KFDX live Wednesday between 7 and 10 p.m, but there are also livestock auctions and a live-silent auction to come.
