Parks & Rec hatches annual Easter egg hunt Saturday afternoon

Local News

To enjoy the weather and celebrate the Easter holiday, the Wichita Falls Parks & Recreation Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 17 at Lucy Park.

The free event allows children between 3-years-old and second grade to hunt the 10,000 eggs containing candy and toys, along with 24 Prize Easter Eggs. Before the egg hunt, the eggs will be spread across two different sections: one section for children four and under, and the other for ages 5 through second grade.

Children can meet and take pictures with the Easter Bunny, and according to Recreation Program Director for Wichita Falls Parks & Recreation said they normally see anywhere from 300 to 600 kids at the event,

Parents cannot assist children with the hunt, however, are welcomed to take pictures during the hunt. Participants must bring their own baskets and sacks for the event.

To help maintain the event, Parks & Recreation and event sponsors University Kiwanis Club members will staff the egg hunt and help hide eggs over the field.
