Police arrest suspect who allegedly beat a man with a tree limb

Wichita Falls Police Department officers arrest a suspect they said was one of three men who beat a man with a rock and a tree limb and kicked him multiple times in the head and body Monday afternoon.

Casey Lee Green, 20, was booked into jail on a $10,000 bond for aggravated assault.

Officers said they were called to the 1800 block of Polk Street for a possible disturbance about 4 p.m. Monday.

On the way, officers said they were waved down at the intersection of Avenue H and Monroe Street where they found a victim with a large wound on his head.

Witnesses there showed police a phone video of the assault.

An officer went back to the 1800 block of Polk and identified Green from the video.

Officers said Green told them he had been in an argument with the victim on Polk.

Green said the victim left and about 10 minutes later two of his friends arrived and they went looking and found the victim in a vacant lot.

The victim ran but Green said he threw a large rock and hit him in the back and they caught him in the intersection and began kicking him and hitting him with a tree branch.

Green said a crowd gathered and some of them said they were calling the police so the three of them left the scene.

Officers are still looking for the other two suspects, a 19-year-old Hispanic male, and an 18-year-old black male.
