A Wichita Falls man is arrested for drug possession after police officers respond to a report of shots fired in the 2500 block of Carrigan Avenue just after 7 p.m. Thursday night.
Joshua Lee Wurtz, 39, was taken into custody in the 2400 block of Carrigan Avenue.
Authorities said they found a cellophane wrapped package of methamphetamine in Wurtz’s pocket.
Officials said witnesses on the scene pointed Wurtz out as the man who was firing shots.
Police said they found shell casings in the area, but no mention of a gun was made in their report.
Wurtz has three previous arrests for drug possession, one for assault and one for injury to a child.
Wichita Falls police officers are investigating a gunshots call near Speedway Avenue.
Authorities were called to a home in the 2500 block of Carrigan Avenue a little after 7 p.m. According to our crew on the scene, one person was put in handcuffs.
