Rain washes out Base Camp Lindsey camp out

Local News

To help raise awareness for homeless veterans community members camped out outside Friday night but the rain washed out most of the campers.

The group of 72 people stayed at the location of the future site of Base Camp Lindsey—a tiny homes community that will give veterans access to a kitchen, their own bathroom to shower as well as access to learning opportunities.

Due to the rain people started to leave around 3 a.m. but they were able to raise more than $1,000 just off Friday night.

Vice Chair Chris de la Garza with Base Camp Lindsey said they’ll have more events each month.
