A pair of horse saddles, totaling nearly $8,000 in value together, were stolen from a tack and equine shop in Wichita Falls.
The saddles were stolen just before 4 a.m. Friday.
Deputies responded to Madson’s Tack and Equine in reference to a burglary alarm. The deputies found the back door of the building forced open, and security cameras caught the theft on tape.
One of the stolen saddles, valued at $6,999, is a Texas Millennial Show Saddle. The other is a Winners Circle Show Saddle valued at $650.
Dj Madson, co-owner of Madson’s Tack and Equine, says the saddles are rare and are very easily identified.
“One of the styles is limited and the other one–there’s only 11 in production in the United States and it’s one of two that has specialty stirrups on it,” Madson said. “There’s a lot of silvering on the high-dollar. It’s got a specialty-cut skirt on it. The entire horn on it is encased in silver and it’s got an alligator print seat on it.”
If you have any information or come across these saddles you can contact the Wichita County Sheriff’s office at (940) 766-8170.
