Time and supporters may be running out for organizers of a petition to get a liquor option on the November ballot for a small part of Montague County.

Ellen and James Fee, owners of the Knic Knacs Cafe in Ringgold are circulating the petition.

The Fee’s need 926 signatures to get the vote on alcohol on the ballot, but say they are still about 200 signatures short and it is getting harder and harder to find signatures of registered voters in precinct one of  Montague County in support of the option.

The Fee’s hoped to be able to offer customers the option of drinks with their meals.

They obtained the petition from county commissioners in late May, and the deadline to turn it in is July 24.

The Fee’s say they will continue the effort, but Ellen said the odds seem to be against them.
