Sheppard Air Force Base’s Security Forces Squadron honored the law enforcement officers that made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty with a retreat ceremony Thursday.
Former military and current Wichita Falls Chief of Police Manuel Borrego was the guest speaker for the event.
“Of course, we’ve had fallen military police in Afghanistan and Iraq and a lot of the previous wars so we can’t forget them,” Borrego said. “They’re a very important part of being peace officers and we’re all brothering together.”
Borrego says one mantra they have in the force is “we will always remember” and that’s exactly what they did Thursday.
