Chips and sawdust will be flying again in Graham this weekend as the Southern States Chainsaw Championship returns for its second year raising funds for first responders.
Thirty carvers are expected to compete this year both in pro and semi-pro divisions.
The event first started in 2016 as Serving Our Servants, which was a meal for first responders. Then last year, they began the chainsaw carving championship.
Entry fee for contestants is a quick carve creation, and they will be auctioned off at the end of each day’s competition–Thursday and Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m with all proceeds going to S.O.S.
Vendors and artists will also have other carvings for sale.
