Severe cases of the flu are on the rise in Oklahoma

The flu’s reach across Oklahoma has only gotten worse. Nearly 200 patients were hospitalized with flu-related illnesses just in the second week of February, increasing the number of those hospitalized with the flu to 907 this season.

25 Oklahomans have also died due to flu-related illnesses.

During the state’s 2017-2018 flu season, 291 people died from the flu, which is the most since the Health Department began tracking deaths in 2009.
