The Texas Railroad Commission has now begun its efforts to clean up an oil spill into the Wichita River now that the spill has been contained.
This video was shot at Burnett Park, off FM 368 and near 258 yesterday. Ramona Nye, with the Railroad Commission says the commission identified the source of the spill from a tank where the bottom fell out about a quarter mile west of 368.
She says the commission continues to work with various agencies to make sure the clean up is completed in accordance with their regulations. A Texas Game Warden said no damage was observed to fish or wildlife, but it sometimes takes several days for that to occur.
