Special Olympics equestrian competition rides into town on Saturday

Special Olympics Texas will host nine athletes for the annual North Texas Area Equestrian Competition at the Whispers of Hope Horse Farm on Saturday.

Athletes from 8-years-old to 30-years-old will compete in events from showmanship, western equitation, western trail, pole bending and barrel racing.

Those competing who are older than 12-years-old will be participating to qualify for the statewide competition which will be held May 18 through 20 in Bryan, Texas.

The event is free to the public.
