Millions of Americans are heading out for spring break vacations and mobile devices are along for the ride.

If your spring break includes scenic destinations, a step up from smartphone selfies may be in order.

“Cameras like Nikon’s D3500 have much better image resolution,” says Suzanne Kantra of Techlicious. “Fifteen times that of a smartphone sensor!” With Bluetooth connectivity, those scenic snaps can turn into Instagram moments.

When you’re back at your hotel, a Bluetooth speaker and streaming stick can deliver some of the entertainment you enjoy at home.

Don’t forget to charge your gadgets before departure, and avoid a dead device on your journey by packing portable power.

There are even luggage options with built-in batteries, but remember to check the specs.

“You may run into some issues going on a plane with those,” warns CNET’s Dan Ackerman. “If the battery is over certain a size or a certain type, they will insist that you remove the battery.”

If it’s a lithium-ion battery that can’t be removed you may be out of luck, but you can still carry on a removable battery.
