Sheriff’s Investigators in Jeff Davis County have charged a 30-year-old man with the death of his wife after their 7-year-old son identified him as her killer.

Sophia Eleanor Sullivan, 31, was found dead inside her home in the 400 block of Granado Street in Fort Davis just before 7 p.m. Friday evening. According to investigators, Sullivan’s husband, Daniel Merrill Sullivan, called 911 to report that he found his wife on the floor and believed someone murdered her.

Daniel Sullivan met Sheriff’s Deputies outside the home, while their 7-year-old son was with a neighbor. Sophia Sullivan was found inside the home with multiple stab wounds on her arms, side, and back.

While the 7-year-old was with the neighbors, he relayed that his father had killed his mother, and when the child exited the house he pointed to his father and repeated that Daniel Sullivan was behind his mother’s death.
