A Colorado duo suspected of a bank robbery in Pueblo, Colorado was captured in north Wichita Falls Monday morning after a lengthy chase.
The suspects were wanted for the robbery of a U.S. Bank on Friday.
According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, around 6 p.m. a man and woman believed to be driving a white minivan handed a teller a note saying they had a gun and demanded money.
Officials say the suspects left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No weapon was seen, and no one was injured, but the two have been identified as Patrick James Byrom, 36, and Kortny Nicole Payne, 40.
Wichita County authorities said the two were taken into custody following a chase that began in Iowa Park when a sheriff’s unit attempted to make a traffic stop of a white minivan.
The van pulled over, then sped off, and led deputies and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers on a chase through roads and streets between Iowa Park and Wichita Falls, finally, a DPS unit was able to spike the tires.
Officials say the van kept going for a while before the tire shredded and started a small fire.
Both suspects were arrested at Missile Road west of Burk Road.
Byrom was charged with Evading Arrest or Detention with Vehicle and three outstanding warrants for Robbery in Pueblo County, Colorado, burglary in Travis County and larceny in Bell County. Payne was charged with evading arrest or detention with a vehicle and an outstanding warrant for robbery out of Pueblo County, Colorado.
Officials believe the two may also be involved in other robberies as well.
