Nearly four thousand dollars were handed out today to Judy Butler, Rebecca Moore, Darrin Ard, and last but not least Kevin Hunter who was awarded the 25-hundred dollar check for his passion in the classroom.
Hunter, who is a fourth-grade teacher at Shive Elementary in Vernon was nominated after he started a tie club at school.

Teaching kids skills like tying a tie, how to properly seat a lady, and even proper dining etiquette.
Hunter said his passion for teaching is what it’s all about.

“Everything about it, I love it. I wake up in the morning ready to go and seeing them when I got out of the truck and I didn’t know they were going to be here, it makes my day seeing those guys because they are my guys,” Hunter said.

Hunter plans to continue his tie club and hopes it keeps growing every day.
