Now that a jury has been seated, testimony is set to begin Thursday morning in the Kody Lott trial in Fort Worth.
Lott is charged with murder and aggravated assault.
The trial was moved from Wichita Falls on a change of venue motion.
In September 2016, police said Lott shot and killed Lauren Landavazo and wounded her friend Makayla Smith while they were walking home from school.
He reportedly told police he was motivated by frustration because he did not have a girlfriend and that he planned out the shooting with the devil.
One of the prime questions potential jurors had to answer was could they consider the option of a verdict of “not guilty by reason of insanity.” Lott’s appointed public defender gave notice he may present an insanity defense.
The jury is made up of seven men, five women and two alternates should any jurors need to be excused or replaced.
Testimony will begin once jurors are read their instructions and hear opening statements.
