A Texas Ranger and Vernon Police Department investigation led to the arrest of a 53-year-old man charged with five felony counts of possession of child pornography.

On June 6, authorities executed a search warrant at the home of Jimmy Llyod McPeak after they received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding child pornography.

According to the arrest affidavit, McPeak admitted to authorities that he used his cell phone to access photographs online that featured girls who he said he knew were underage. He told investigators that he viewed the images on a regular basis.

McPeak was jailed on bonds totaling $30,000.
